Instructional Technology at Holy Name

At Holy Name High School, we ensure that our faculty and students have access to the latest in instructional technology. Thanks in large part to the money that we have received from the Diocese of Allentown, from the generosity of the benefactors who contributed to the Strengthening Our Future in Faith Campaign, we have made significant technology improvements to our entire school.

Some of the many capabilities that we have are: 

• ·    Several of our students are taking classes online through our partnership with the Virtual High School. This is a nationally acclaimed program in which our students can enroll in online classes and choose from a curriculum of almost 200 courses. Check out this link for more information http://govhs.org
• ·    Every classroom has a ceiling mounted SVGA projector and a sound system installed that allows the faculty to share the resources of the Internet and to show a plethora of video resources
•      All teachers have Apple laptop computers
•      Four mobile carts with Apple laptops are available for classroom use

• ·    Three computer rooms are available each equipped with thirty computer workstations
•      Five Elmo magnifying units are available for faculty use
• ·    The school has wireless access to the Internet and the school's network
• ·    All freshman receive a technology familiarization course to ensure that they are comfortable with Apple software, grading software, database management, and word processing skills
• ·    We have 15 Apple laptops that students use to participate in a course on film production and editing
• ·    Our library has 17 computers, all with access to a wide variety of research databases
• ·    Our students' grades are available to view by their parents online through MMS. 
• ·    We have a computerized announcement system for the students to view in the main hallway
• ·    Our website has a myriad of capabilites that we will be using to connect to our school community.
•      We have digital wireless handheld clickers that students use for completing tests and to provide instant assessment capability and grading for our teachers
